Wage Survey 2017

The 2017 Wage Survey is now closed for participation. The final report will be available for purchase in late April. Please contact Lyndsay Ferguson at lferguson@hsvchamber.org to purchase a copy of the report.

 

Overview

Every year the Chamber conducts a wage survey for its membership. This survey helps local organizations gauge their compensation and benefits against other companies in our region. This year, we are excited to partner with the North Alabama Society for Human Resources (NASHRM) to also make the survey available to its membership. We are also pleased to partner with Economic Development agencies in Limestone, Morgan and Cullman counties to make this survey available to their manufacturing companies.

Our objective is to provide an accurate picture of wage and salary rates for benchmark positions in the Huntsville/Madison County region while abiding by the antitrust guidelines issued by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission.

A few important things to note:

  • Every organization’s data makes a difference! Even if you have data for only one of the survey positions, you are encouraged and welcomed to participate.
  • A minimum of 5 organizations are required to respond for each data point in order for the results to be published, in accordance with Department of Justice guidelines. This is why participation from all companies is critical for the success of the survey and the usefulness of the data.
  • When submitting data, only provide data for operations in North Alabama. Do not provide data from locations outside of North Alabama. This survey is intended to be a local resource.
  • Astron Solutions will administer the survey and will hold in strict confidence all information reported. The completed survey will meet all legal guidelines.
  • If you participated in the survey in 2016, your data from last year is still available and will be prepopulated. You can request your login information here.

  • Data can be entered online or by using this Excel file.

 

To encourage participation in the survey, the cost to purchase the full survey results is significantly reduced for participating companies.

* If you choose not to participate in the survey, you will be able to purchase survey data if you are a Huntsville/Madison County Chamber member or a member of NASHRM and will be charged the non-participant price. This price doubles each year for non-participants.

A printed paper copy is also available for an additional fee. This cost is in addition to the cost for the electronic wage & benefit survey data. The cost for printing is typically $15, however price is subject to change based on the cost of printing.

The Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County aims to provide you with relevant information that you can use in the management of your organization. We greatly appreciate the effort expended by each organization to provide the Chamber with timely and accurate information. We welcome your suggestions on how we can continue to improve the survey to meet your organizations' needs.
