Brigadier General Garrick Harmon assumed command of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC) on May 17. Prior to this assignment, Harmon served as the Senior Defense Official and Defense Attaché, U.S. Defense Attaché Office, Embassy of the U.S.A., Moscow, Russian Federation.
He is excited to be at Redstone Arsenal after assignments that have seen him and his family living outside the U.S. for more than 10 years. As a Foreign Area Officer, he has spent the last 22 years leading U.S. National Security efforts alongside our Allies and Partners. He has served in international posts from Estonia to Spain, from Georgia to Afghanistan, along with several Pentagon assignments and two tours in Moscow.
USASAC is a subordinate organization of the Army Materiel Command, the primary provider of materiel to the U.S. Army. USASAC leads the AMC security assistance enterprise, developing and managing security assistance enterprise programs and foreign military sales.
