Childcare Resources

August 10, 2020

As remote learning begins across the Tennessee Valley this month, several resources are available to parents for supervision and academic support. Each school district is developing a resource page.

  • Madison County
  • Huntsville City
  • Madison City

Some service providers are extending their services to include remote learning:

  • Heart of the Valley YMCA is offering the following services
    • After school care “Out of School Camp” at both Madison and Huntsville locations. See the Out of School Camp flier.
    • Daycare & Preschool at 3 locations in Northwest, Southeast & Downtown Huntsville.
See the Child Care flier (6 weeks through Preschool) and the First Class Pre K flier (must be age 4 by Sept. 2, 2020)
  • Girls Inc. is offering its fall program for 2nd through 6th graders.
  • Boys and Girls Club is holding Club Academy for grades K through 12.

Rocket City Mom has several sources related to remote learning:

  • Onsite and in-home supervision
  • Find a tutor
  • Signup to be a tutor
  • Support for parents

Several churches are considering offering childcare in response to remote learning.

The YMCA can provide services at churches if they do not want to operate their own.

Landers McLarty Subaru will match all donations to YMCA Early Childhood Education (up to $10,000) to help the Y raise $30,000 in support of our childcare scholarships through September. DOUBLE your impact and give now at colortheirfuture.org.
