Dawn Suiter recently joined the Flourish Team as a Senior Writer. Dawn’s academic background is in advertising/public relations, marketing, and history, and as one would expect, her interests are widely varied. As a child who grew up in Orlando, FL, she watched Space Shuttle and rocket launches from her front yard, and her excitement for the future of the space program is boundless. Prior to starting at Flourish in 2022, she taught world and U.S. history at the high school and college levels and later served as a volunteer archivist at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville before joining Tennessee Valley Archaeological Research as a historian, where she researched and wrote county histories for a TVA project.
Following this, she became a contributing writer and fill-in editor with the Huntsville Business Journal, covering local stories and events. In addition to her duties as Senior Writer at Flourish, she continues to write for the Journal on a part-time basis. Dawn’s interests involve all things STEM (she describes herself as a Liberal Arts nerd in a family of engineers), research and writing, volunteerism, and using her journalistic skills to help boost the success of local businesses and nonprofits. A longtime Madison resident, Dawn is married to a senior-level engineer and has three grown children who are also engineers. In her free time she enjoys thrifting, attending concerts, hiking, photography, and traveling.
