The Orthopaedic Center (TOC) announced the addition of Dr. Thompson McMurtrie to its team in September. Dr. McMurtrie is one of three new doctors to join TOC, along with Dr. Zachary Moore and Dr. Corey Burke. TOC now boasts 38 orthopaedic physicians across North Alabama.
“As our community and region grow, TOC understands the need for greater access to highly trained and skillful medical providers,” says TOC’s CEO, Mark Didier. “For this reason, TOC is excited to announce we are expanding our provider base with three more fellowship-trained surgeons to meet the orthopaedic medical needs of our communities. Throughout the North Alabama region, TOC is committed to your care.”
Dr. McMurtrie is a Huntsville native. He completed medical school and orthopaedic surgery residency at UAB before completing his fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center and Tulane University. His goal is to provide excellent and thoughtful care to his patients based on sound research and experience to help patients meet their goals. Dr. McMurtrie focuses on the arthroscopic and open reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee, including tendon and cartilage repair, ligament reconstruction, and joint replacement. Dr. McMurtrie will join the Sports Medicine team at TOC’s Huntsville, Madison, and Ardmore locations.
