Jonathan Andrews joined CFD Research as the Director of the Data Science Group in late 2020, specifically to lead CFD Research’s continued growth in transitioning our technologies to customers for use in analysis of aerospace systems performance. Jonathan will manage CFD Research’s Data Science Department, including the CodeWorks team (Software Engineering) as well as the Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence research area. In this role, Jonathan will work closely with research staff to ensure the emerging technologies developed at CFD Research are ready to be integrated with larger Modelling and Simulation efforts in support of the customer’s mission. In addition, Jonathan and his team will support various research & development of AI/ML techniques for biomedical and life science applications.
Jonathan has over 10 years of experience supporting DoD and Intelligence customers with modeling and simulation efforts for missiles and radars. In addition to M&S tasks, he has developed an expertise for Operator-in-the-Loop activities to analyze performance capabilities for domestic and foreign weapon systems. Jonathan graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and later returned to UAH to receive his Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
Jonathan and his spouse, Whitney, have been residents of the Huntsville-Madison area since 2013. Whitney is a teacher and Social Studies Department Chair at Randolph School in Huntsville. They enjoy traveling, and look forward to a return to normalcy. Until then, they enjoy time with their dog, Millie, and will welcome their first child in April of this year.
