    Gilbert Goscicki joined Aerojet Rocketdyne as the Site Director for the company’s 136,000 sq. ft. Advanced Manufacturing Facility or AMF. Gilbert brings to his role more than 14 years of experience in the chemical and automotive manufacturing industries. With an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the University of Alabama and Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, Gilbert is responsible for managing the manufacturing facility’s day-to-day operations. Aerojet Rocketdyne’s AMF furthers the Rocket City’s legacy by supporting American defense and space exploration through the production of solid rocket motor cases and components for advanced rocket engines.

    The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta announced the reappointment of David Nast, President & CEO, to another three-year term. This will be his second consecutive term on the Board. Nast is a Founding Director of Progress Bank and has served as President and CEO since the bank opened in 2008. He holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Jacksonville State University, as well as banking certificates from the Louisiana State University Banking School of the South and Georgia State University’s Leadership Institute. He also holds the Series 7, Series 66 and Series 24 securities licenses.

    QTEC Aerospace is pleased to announce the promotion of current President, Carol H. Daniel to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President.  Carol, also a member of the QTEC Aerospace Board of Directors, succeeds former CEO and co-founder, Kathy Broad, who retired in 2021. A member of QTEC Aerospace since 2013, Carol has been a principal force in guiding the company’s strategic development and exponential growth.  She is well-known throughout the Defense community for her technical expertise and management of complex projects throughout her illustrious career, especially with regard to model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and the application of system engineering methods to the integration of information intensive systems-of-systems (SoS).

    BRPH, a nationally ranked architecture, engineering and construction firm headquartered in Melbourne, Fla., is pleased to announce the promotion of Joshua Meharg, PE, to vice president of its aerospace and defense market sector. Meharg joined BRPH in June 2014 as an electrical engineer in the firm’s Atlanta office and developed into the engineering manager for the location. He then led an effort to establish a branch office in Huntsville, where he has successfully developed clients and established a significant and growing presence for the firm. He took over BRPH’s aerospace and defense market sector as an interim leader last fall. Meharg will continue to work from BRPH’s Huntsville office.

Primm is a graduate of Alabama A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning with concentrations in Housing and Community Development. As a professional, Primm has over 20 years of experience in fitness and recreation and almost a decade of entrepreneurial experience, including government relations, project management, public speaking, and restaurant ownership.

    Katy Ganaway is a local news host on Huntsville Public Radio, 89.3 FM/HD WLRH for All Things Considered and Morning Edition. She also hosts Arts Underground, her locally-produced show spotlighting artistic gems that lie just beneath the surface in the Tennessee Valley and beyond. The conversations in which she engages and feature stories she crafts focus on the human experience, whether it be related to health, history, arts, nature, education or something whimsical and, well, “out there.” Katy has won various journalism awards over the years, from the Alabama Broadcasters Association and the Society of Professional Journalists, and has gained recognition for her work from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in her radio career so far. Her goal is to offer a wide-reaching platform to the voices of the members of our community who are giving back and doing wonderful things. That includes spotlighting the unique, bold, talented, and remarkable individuals here in Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley.

Powell most recently coached at Tuskegee University as an assistant and recruiting coordinator for nearly three years. Prior to that he was the head coach at the Montgomery Knights MLB in 2020, Wetumpka High School Class 6A 2017-2019, and The Calhoun School Class 2A 2016-2017. He was won several awards for his teaching and coaching, including the Excellence in Teaching Award and the Central Alabama Basketball Official Association Coaching Sportsmanship Award. He has over 15 years of experience and has coached players like Cortney Forston, Dionte´ Ferguson, Clifford Thomas, Gregg Boyd, and 2x Mr. Alabama Jaderious “JD” Davison.

Connor recently finished an internship with Spire through the EDAA summer internship program, where he met various site selectors, realtors, and local economic development authorities throughout the state of Alabama. As he learned more about the economic development industry during his internship, he was able to network and grow his knowledge of the industry through SalesForce, Auburn University’s Economic Development Intensive Courses, as well as visit various sites and companies in the state of Alabama.

    Tracy Wallace has been promoted to Director of Horticulture at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. In this role, Tracy will provide leadership for plant propagation operations and the management of ornamental gardens and natural areas at the Garden. Tracy’s extensive experience in landscape and nursery management began at her family-owned and operated 50-acre plant nursery, which ignited her passion and led to obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture with honors from the University of Arkansas. She further expanded her expertise while delighting guests at world-class resorts at Universal Studios Orlando and Callaway Gardens in Georgia. Tracy believes the scientific and artistic elements of horticulture are a fundamental part of the garden experience and are essential in order to connect people to plants.

Dr. Pendleton will serve along with Dr. Enrico Poggio, current deciBel Research Chief Scientist.  Pendleton has been with deciBel Research since 2010 and has served in a variety of technically-focused roles over his career serving customers in the Intelligence Community, Missile Defense Agency, NASA, and the Army. Pendleton has expertise as an experimental scientist developing high-fidelity, physics simulations of detectors and their environment over the entire electromagnetic spectrum from high frequency over the horizon radar, through electro-optical/infrared systems, to high energy gamma-ray radiation detectors. He worked for over 12 years in the UAH Physics Department achieving the position of Associate Research Professor and received the UAH outstanding researcher award. Pendleton earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Case Western Reserve University and BS in Physics from Brown University. He has authored or co-authored over 300 publications.

During his time at the university, his studies focused on analog, digital circuits, electromagnetics, communications engineering, power electrical systems, PCB and CAD design. Since graduating, he was responsible for Solar Engineer responsibilities for a Solar O&M company and Field Engineering for a commercial electrical contractor. Mr. Tracey is working to achieve his professional engineer license in the future and continues to develop his knowledge of electrical systems. Eric was raised in Enterprise, AL, thus, having been around Aviation for most of his life. He joins R2C after working with a local company as a program manager for the past 14 years. Eric is a retired US Army veteran serving 21 years in the infantry, Ranger Training Brigade and flying as a UH60 Instructor Pilot. He served in Texas, North Carolina, Germany, Korea, and Alabama. Some points of interest are having served under the UN in Macedonia and Kosovo. He also served in Iraq during the last war.
