The Food Bank of North Alabama is excited to announce that Abbey Rothfeldt has been promoted to Development Coordinator. Abbey joined the Food Bank’s development team in the beginning of 2024 and has made an immediate impact on the Food Bank’s fundraising efforts. Ms. Rothfeldt will grow her role in advocating for the Food Bank with local and state governments, corporate outreach and general fundraising.
Abbey, a native of Guntersville, graduated from Montevallo in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. Abbey was her senior class president, SGA Executive Member of the Year and voted Who’s Who. Following college, Abbey volunteered with AmeriCorps in Alaska working with indigenous youth for two years.
Ms. Rothfeldt lives in Huntsville with her partner Nate Macean and they are expecting their first child in March 2025.
“It has been such an asset to have Abbey’s enthusiasm and work ethic at the Food Bank,” said Bobby Bozeman, development director at the Food Bank of North Alabama. “Her focus and drive are instrumental in activating the community to join us in our fight against hunger.”
In addition to their direct services, the Food Bank of North Alabama serves over 235 non-profits across 11 counties in North Alabama, including food pantries, soup kitchens, transitional living, women’s shelters, homeless shelters and others. They distributed 15 million pounds of food to over 185,000 people in the North Alabama community in the past year.
