Karren Crowson announced recently that Partnership for a Drug-Free Community has hired a new Executive Director, Cheryl Russell. Cheryl moved from Maine to Alabama in 2017. She recently worked for Woody Anderson Ford.
Mrs. Crowson shared that Cheryl has extensive experience in managing both for profit and not for profit businesses and organizations.
Mrs. Russell has a M.Ed. in Leadership and Administration from Antioch University.
She worked for her family logging and forestry business for almost 20 years and then served as the first Executive Director for the American Loggers Council, a National Forestry and Logging Association with members in 27 states. She served as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Husson University and was the Executive Director of the Center for Family Business at Husson University, replacing Maine’s US Senator Susan Collins.
Ms. Russell served as the Vice President for Development and Major Gifts for United Way of Eastern Maine and worked for United States Senator Olympia J. Snowe as her fundraiser and field director for her campaigns in 2006 and 2012 elections. She also served as a Legislative Aide.
Cheryl is a Licensed Minister and lives in New Market with her husband David.
