Deitrick Smart has joined the Madison County Commission District 6 staff as director of the Robert “Bob” Harrison Senior Wellness and Advocacy Center.
Mr. Smart, a native of Itta Bena, Mississippi, holds an M.Ed. in Sports Administration from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and a B.S. in Health Education from Mississippi Valley State University. He has over 20 years of experience in recreation management, facility management, financial services, sports coaching, operational leadership, and customer service.
Previously, Mr. Smart worked as a financial professional at New York Life, where he identified client needs and recommended risk management strategies. He also served as a Realtor at Chanda Davis Real Estate, assessing commercial markets. Mr. Smart’s passion for education and sports led him to serve nine years as an educator and coach between the states of Alabama and Arizona.
Dietrick and his wife Sionme are the proud parents of two beautiful children.
