Alabama Colon & Gastro, P.C. is thrilled to welcome Dr. Peter DeLeeuw to the Huntsville/Madison area. He was born and raised in Dallas-Fort Worth. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. Gig’em! This was followed by his medical education at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis followed by his Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, where he served as chief fellow. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. DeLeeuw knew early on in his medicine career that he wanted to be a gastroenterologist. He has a passion for treating his patients both by performing the latest procedures and getting to know them in the clinic. Dr. DeLeeuw and his wife, Meredith, have one son and two Weimaraners. His wife’s family has lived in Huntsville for many generations, and they are both excited to be a part of and serve the Huntsville community.
