The Huntsville Sports Commission is pleased to announce the hiring of Emma Hudson as a 2025 summer intern, where she will contribute to various projects aimed at growing sports and events in the Huntsville area.
As a native of Huntsville, Hudson comes to the Commission with an impressive high school background as a dual-sport athlete, competing in both soccer and cross-country/track and field. Hudson played club soccer for the North Alabama Soccer Coalition and contributed to two consecutive state championships, as well as one regional quarterfinal. She is also a decorated competitive runner, having earned four individual Alabama All-State Finisher and led her team to back-to-back state championships in 2016 and 2017. Hudson currently holds the school record at Randolph for the 3200-meter run in Indoor Track and Field.
Hudson attended the University of Indianapolis (UIndy) from 2021 to 2023, where she continued her soccer career as a member of the UIndy Women’s Soccer team and earned a spot on the Dean’s List for two semesters. Hudson unfortunately suffered her third ACL tear during her time at UIndy, which led her to medically retire from soccer and transfer to UAB to be closer to home. There, she secured a spot on the President’s List five times and graduated magna cum laude this May.
“I am excited for this opportunity to help the Huntsville Sports Commission foster a safe, fun, and competitive environment for the athletes,” said Hudson. “My experience as an athlete and my love for sports is what fuels my passion to give back to the community and to the athletes who are competing where I once did years ago.”
Hudson began her internship with the Huntsville Sports Commission on May 5 and will continue working through the summer.
