Jamie Reeves is the founding member and broker of MeritHouse Realty (MHR). Her most recent endeavor with Nashville based business partner Gary Hyde, is MeritHouse Capital Management (MCM). With projects in Alabama, Tennessee & Georgia, MCM offers management & design services for commercial properties, multi-family developments, HOAs, planned unit developments, asset management & other commercial ventures.
Jamie is an Athens State University alumnus and a longtime North Alabama entrepreneur. For over ten years she was a mainstay in downtown Decatur as a family portrait photographer owning Your Story Captured. In 2015, she changed career paths and those skills transferred perfectly into her role as a real estate agent. Her eye for detail and design have benefited both buyer and seller. Since becoming an agent, Jamie has worked diligently assisting families making Alabama home. Jamie was part of the North Alabama REALTORS Leadership Program in 2016-2017, the 2017 award recipient for the Alabama Association of Realtors, Mickey Phillips REALTORS for Children and the 2017 Morgan County Association of REALTORS Rising Star award winner. Her devotion to enhancing the lives of others is what brought her to the decision of forming MeritHouse Realty in 2020. MeritHouse is a direct reflection of the way she lives her life and the way she chooses to serve others in our community as a portion of the sales is invested back into their clients nonprofit of choice.
Jamie and her husband, homebuilder, Steve were foster parents now turned adoptive parents. The Reeves have a beautiful, blended family of six girls – Jessica, Emily, Maysen, Hunter & Ascher and grand-daughter Lenox. Jamie is passionate about child advocacy and her community. Her advocacy for children began in her young adult life as an AmeriCorp VISTA at Mosaic Mentoring, formerly Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morgan County Inc. where she spearheaded a High School program teaching high school juniors and seniors how to give back to the younger generation through mentorship. She has lead with a servant heart by giving her time to several different nonprofits throughout Morgan County; such as the Morgan County Child Advocacy Council, the Decatur Charity League, Parents & Children Together (PACT) Board of Directors, CASA of North Alabama Board of Directors, ABLE ART, Morgan County Association of Realtors Community Liaison Chair & Safety Chair, Morgan County Residential Task Team, former Chair of Development for the Decatur-Morgan Chamber of Commerce & current Chair-Elect of the Decatur-Morgan Chamber of Commerce. Jamie was recently chosen to represent the Decatur-Morgan area through Leadership Alabama which is a network of statewide leaders working to help move Alabama forward. Her heart for people and the community continues to fuel her success in real estate.
