MONTGOMERY, AL – Jeff Samz, CEO of Huntsville Hospital Health System, has been named Secretary-Treasurer of the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA) Board of Trustees. The election was held at the Association’s recent annual meeting.
“Jeff has played a crucial role in numerous key initiatives undertaken by AlaHA over the past several years to enhance healthcare for our patients,” said Donald E. Williamson, MD, President of the Alabama Hospital Association. “His innovative and steadfast leadership will be a valuable asset to the AlaHA Board of Trustees as he moves into an officer position.”
Samz serves as the CEO at Huntsville Hospital Health System, which includes 14 hospitals and dozens of ambulatory locations stretching across northern Alabama. Samz leads the senior management team responsible for maintaining successful relationships with a medical staff of 1,400 physicians and is the executive accountable for the overall direction of the Huntsville Hospital Health System and its 19,000 employees.
Samz has served AlaHA in numerous capacities, including as a member of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Federal Legislative and Regulatory Committees, and most recently as Image Task Force Chair.
Locally, Samz is active in community organizations, serving as chair-elect and board member of the Huntsville Madison County Chamber of Commerce, as well as vice chair and board member of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Foundation.
Founded in 1921, the Alabama Hospital Association is a statewide trade organization dedicated to assisting member hospitals in effectively serving Alabama’s healthcare needs through advocacy, representation, education, and service.
