Jennifer Moore has been named the new President/CEO of the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Ms. Moore, a professional in the local hospitality industry for nearly three decades, brings a wealth of community knowledge and hands-on experience into her new role. A graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Economics, Moore represents the community on numerous regional and national boards, which includes serving as the current Chair of both the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association and Alabama Travel Council, as well as a former member of U.S. Travel Association’s Destination Council Board of Directors, the Auburn Alumni Association’s National Board of Directors, the Huntsville/Madison County Hospitality Association Board of Directors, and as a former President of the Huntsville Hotel Sales and Marketing Executives.
Her many achievements and accolades include being a graduate of Leadership Greater Huntsville Class 25, recipient of the Tourism Professional of the Year awards from the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association and the Alabama Tourism Department, the Alabama Travel Council’s Award of Excellence, and the Huntsville/Madison County Hospitality Association’s Red Ribbon Award.
Her selection comes after a six-month search, attracting applicants from around the region and country. In her new role, she will lead a team of 16 full-time and more than 20 part-time hospitality industry professionals. Judy Ryals, Moore’s predecessor, was the longest-serving head of any travel and tourism agency in the United States when she announced her retirement earlier this year after 45 years of service to our community.
