The Food Bank of North Alabama is thrilled to announce the promotion of Kelly Nicholas to Agency Relations Coordinator. Kelly joined the Food Bank in December 2023 as the Agency Relations Assistant and quickly became an integral part of both the organization and the local food assistance community.
Kelly not only brings incredible energy to her work but is also recognized for her innovative problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. She is a collaborative team player who fosters strong relationships with colleagues and agency partners alike by uniting compassion with knowledge and hard work. With a diverse career spanning family-owned businesses to nationally recognized brands, she has excelled in both executive and support roles, successfully building brands from the ground up. In her new role in Agency Relations, Kelly is dedicated to expanding our network of over 230 partners across north Alabama while streamlining processes and enhancing existing procedures to eliminate unnecessary barriers to food distribution in the community. Aiming to break the stigma surrounding hunger, Kelly educates elementary students about what food insecurity could really look like amongst their peers and equips them with knowledge of available resources in their immediate area.
Kelly holds a degree in Hospitality Management with a specialization in Culinary Arts and has recently achieved dual certification as a ServSafe Instructor and Proctor. With over 15 years of experience in food service and organizational management, Kelly has successfully combined her passions for culinary hospitality and philanthropy into a fulfilling career. She emphasizes communication and relationship building, ensuring that our most vulnerable populations are safeguarded through rigorous attention to food safety compliance, and we are ecstatic to call her part of our team.
