Sally Santos, a stalwart of Huntsville’s defense industry, is now board president for HEALS. She brings over three decades of engineering and business acumen to the table.
A dedicated resident of the area since 1988, Sally’s career began with 15 years of pioneering work in radar and sensor simulations. Her innovative techniques revolutionized testing methods at the Missile Defense Agency.
In 2003, she invested her talent in deciBel Research, Inc., where she continues to serve as Chief Analyst. Under her technical leadership, deciBel grew from a nascent startup to a robust 150-strong team. It’s no surprise that the company proudly claims a spot on the Inc. 500/5000 fastest growing companies list seven times, reflecting its immense growth and contribution to missile defense strategies. Marking a monumental transition, deciBel celebrated its shift to being 100% employee-owned in 2021.
From mastering the complexities of “rocket science”; to distilling the essence of “rocket fuel”, Sally’s entrepreneurial journey has been both diverse and dynamic. Alongside her husband, Abel, she ventured into the creation of the Santo Mítico Mezcal brand, where she now serves as its CEO. But her passion extends beyond business. In 2015, Sally’s journey with HEALS Inc. commenced when she participated in STARS dancing for HEALS. She has served on the HEALS board of directors for five years, currently
holding the position of board President.
