Talyn Walton, Public Relations Specialist for the Port of Huntsville – Huntsville International Airport, recently completed the Leadership Greater Huntsville Connect program. Ms. Walton was in the C-27 cohort of the Connect program. The 10-month program focuses on personal growth, professional development and increased involvement for emerging leaders in the community.
“Before I started this program, I had a love for Huntsville and the surrounding areas, and now as I have completed it, I have a passion for Huntsville and the future of this community and surrounding areas,” Walton said. “I have a passion for showing up to the table and serving this community now more than ever before!”
Members of the C-27 Connect program met once a month beginning in August 2024. The program began with a kickoff event in Downtown Huntsville. Over the year, participants attended themed program days including Local Economic Development Day, Public Safety Day, Local Government Day, Health and Wellness Day, Human Services Day, and others focusing on aspects of the community. Participants also worked in small groups with local non-profit organizations, supporting them to enable greater contribution to the betterment of community. Through the Leadership Greater Huntsville Connect program, Walton strengthened her connection to Huntsville, gained unique experiences, and built meaningful connections with her peers.
