Performance Drone Works (PDW), a rapidly scaling technology company specializing in unmanned aerial systems, has named Preston Taylor as Senior Director of Business Operations. Based in Huntsville, Taylor leads core business functions across human resources, talent acquisition, information technology, cybersecurity, physical security, training, and administration.
As one of PDW’s first hires, Taylor has been central to the company’s operational buildout—helping grow the organization from under 20 employees to over 140 across multiple states. He has designed and implemented enterprise systems, codified policy and compliance frameworks, and led the rollout of critical platforms to support rapid scale and regulatory readiness.
Taylor’s portfolio spans more than day-to-day operations. He is a key driver of strategic initiatives and special projects tied to PDW’s national growth. From facility stand-ups and organizational realignments to internal systems modernization and workforce readiness programs, his work touches nearly every department. He is often brought in to solve complex, cross-functional problems where speed, discretion, and execution matter most.
Known for his precision, operational rigor, and sharp business acumen, Taylor brings structure to ambiguity and momentum to stalled efforts. His ability to lead through scale-up while maintaining execution discipline has positioned him as one of PDW’s most trusted senior leaders.
Prior to PDW, Taylor held roles in operations, project management, and business transformation across defense, technology, and healthcare sectors. He brings a systems-first approach, high standards, and a reputation for getting things done.
A north Alabama resident, Taylor is active in the Huntsville business community. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his partner and recharging off the grid.
