We invite you to participate in a variety of activities to honor our military in the Huntsville/Madison County community! Here are the events for the upcoming Armed Forces Celebration Week, which is June 25-July 1, 2023:
Monday, June 26
Proclamation Signing Ceremony
8 a.m.
Huntsville/Madison County Veterans Memorial (200 Monroe Street NW, Huntsville, AL 35801)
Leaders from Huntsville, Madison, Madison County, and Redstone Arsenal will sign a proclamation and the Maneuver Center of Excellence Band, from Fort Moore, Ga., will play patriotic music. In case of rain, the proclamation signing will be moved indoors to the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber, located at 225 Church Street NW, Huntsville, AL 35801.
Armed Forces Concert in the Park & Fireworks Show
6:30 p.m.
Big Spring Park, downtown Huntsville (Rain location: VBC South Hall)
Fireworks at dark (weather permitting)
Come enjoy a night of music and fireworks downtown! Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville Department of Parks & Recreation’s 2023 Military Appreciation Night Concert in the Park will feature the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE) Band from Ft. Moore, Ga. Come join the fun in beautiful Big Spring Park as we honor our military, and don’t forget to stay through the fireworks show.

Tuesday, June 27
Community Softball Game: Team Redstone vs. Community Leaders
5:30–7:30 p.m. (first pitch at 5:30 p.m.)
Toyota Field
Free admission & parking – gates open at 5 p.m.
*No-cash stadium – concessions available; clear bag policy
Community Leaders will host Redstone Arsenal leaders in a Community Softball Game at Toyota Field. Parking and admission are FREE – gates open at 5 p.m. and first pitch is at 5:30 p.m. We invite everyone to come watch the game and enjoy a night at the ballpark. We’d love a big crowd! Concessions will be available for purchase.
The North Alabama Rockets and Team Redstone will be competing for the coveted “Target Destroyed” trophy. Come out and root them on! Here are some of the familiar faces you’ll see on the field:

The Links at Redstone
AUSA will host its annual Iron Mike Golf Tournament at The Links at Redstone. Registration is at 7 a.m. and Shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. Register HERE

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center will host its weekly summer Biergarten event in the Davidson Center. This week’s partner organization is AUSA.

In addition to these events, many local attractions will offer free or discounted admissions for military families. These include:
Burritt on the Mountain
Free admission to active military and Veterans.
Huntsville Museum Art
Extends active military admission discount to all Veterans for the week. (Museum is closed on Mondays.) Active military discount is $10 admission, instead of the usual $12 for adults.
Huntsville Botanical Garden
In appreciation of our Armed Forces and of all U.S. service members, the Garden invites active and retired military personnel and their immediate families to enjoy complimentary admission to the Garden July 3 and 4. Please be prepared to show your military ID at the door. Complimentary admission during Armed Forces Appreciation Days is brought to you by Lockheed Martin.
U.S. Space & Rocket Center
Will offer free admission to active and retired military members and Veterans with one paid admission June 24 – July 1.
Heart of the Valley YMCA
The Heart of the Valley YMCA honors those who serve our country by offering free admission (With current military ID) to members of the military and their families at all three YMCA branches during Armed Forces Week June 25-July 1. Join fees will be waived for those wishing to activate membership during this week, and Military individuals and families enjoy additional savings on membership and camp.
