First Stop’s newest employee, Brian Anderson, joined the team in May as the Development Director. Brian will work with the Board of Directors, the incoming Executive Director and the staff on community outreach, fundraising and development.
A New Hampshire native, Brian first moved to Alabama in 2010 for grad school at the University of Alabama and has bounced around the state ever since. He landed in Huntsville initially in 2016 and moved back in 2021. Brian brings close to 10 years of non-profit development experience to First Stop having worked previously with the Boy Scouts of America and the American Cancer Society.
“I am so excited to be starting this position at First Stop and working with this outstanding team,” Brian said. “I’ve long wanted to work directly with people in this community, dedicated and committed to solving the immediate problems of the city I call home. I hope to collaborate and continue the success of this wonderful organization.”
Prior to his non-profit work, Brian worked as a news reporter and is excited to be sharing the story of First Stop with the greater Huntsville community. In his free time, he’s an avid film fan, sports enthusiast and loves to play guitar.
