After serving as Huntsville Hospital’s Executive Director of Surgical Services/Service Line Administrator for Surgical Services for the past six years, Cheryl Neville has been named Vice President of Surgical Services. Her current roles include responsibility for the peri-operative operations of 64 surgical suites as well as two endoscopy centers. This includes the oversight of 20 different departments with 800-plus employees that perform more than 36,000 surgical procedures and 16,000 endoscopy procedures annually.
She previously served as Director of Surgery Main, Director of Surgery Women’s & Children’s, Clinical Operations Manager of Madison Hospital, and Clinical Manager of Orthopedic Surgery at Huntsville Hospital.
Cheryl’s educational background includes a BSN from the University of North Alabama and a Master of Management in Health Care from Vanderbilt University. She was born and raised in the Shoals area of North Alabama and joined Huntsville Hospital in 2002. Cheryl is married and has five children and nine grandchildren.
In her new role as VP of Surgical Services, Cheryl will spend her time on employee recruitment/retention, ensuring operational efficiencies, surgical services strategic planning, physician alignment, and patient quality improvement. She succeeds Thomas Fender, who is retiring after a long and distinguished career with Huntsville Hospital.
