Huntsville Utilities announced the hiring of Chris Jones in July as the company’s new Senior Vice President of Operations/Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for operations, operations support and engineering.

Prior to coming to Huntsville, Chris worked for City Utilities of Springfield, MO for 30 years, most recently as the Vice President – Chief Electric Operations Officer.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri and a Master of Business Administration from Missouri State University. Chris is also a registered professional engineer in the state of Missouri.

Huntsville Utilities is a not-for-profit, public utility owned by the City of Huntsville, Alabama, serving the residents of Huntsville and Madison County. The utility currently has approximately 212,000 electric, 105,000 water, and 62,000 natural gas customers.
