The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library (HMCPL) Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of Connie Chow as the Library’s new Executive Director, marking an exciting new chapter for the system.
Chow has served as Interim Executive Director since July 2024, but her history with HMCPL extends much further. Since joining the Library in 2007, she has held multiple leadership roles, strengthened library services, and championed the vital role libraries play in connecting people to ideas, resources, and one another.
A native of the Mississippi Delta, Chow earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, concentrating in Management Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science. She began her career in database management for companies in Memphis and Atlanta before joining HMCPL. While working at the Library, she furthered her education by earning a Master’s in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama.
