IMPORTANT DETAILS BELOW
Small Businesses and nonprofits applying for a small business award, please read:
- MUST be a current Chamber Member in good standing. Click here to login and check your membership status.
- MUST hold a valid business license in Huntsville/Madison County or be a nonprofit organization with a valid IRS tax exemption certificate.
- MUST be independently owned and operated/Nonprofits MUST operate independently from any government.
- MUST be within the required employee count (under 250 employees); the only exception is the Engineering and Defense category. Employee count is the total number of employees in ALL locations.
- Applications will be accepted in the Engineering and Defense category for companies that are: Small (≤100 employees), Medium (101-300 employees), and Large (301+). An award will be made in each size category.
- MUST have been actively in business or operating a minimum of 3 years by September 12, 2024; the only exception is the Emerging Business category.
- Applicants in the Emerging Business category may not be more than 3 years old by September 4, 2024.
- MUST not have received any of the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber Small Business Award(s) in the last 3 years, excluding Young Professional of the Year or the Russell G. Brown Executive Leadership Award.
- Applicants should apply in the category that most accurately represents 75% of the services or products they offer.
- To be considered in more than one category, the applicant MUST qualify as a Minority-Owned, military Veteran-Owned, or Woman-Owned company (and must indicate on the application in which category they want to be considered).
- To qualify as a Minority-Owned, military Veteran-Owned, or Woman-Owned company, the company MUST be 51% owned and operated by a minority, military Veteran, or woman respectively.
- If competing in more than one category you are ONLY eligible to receive ONE award.
- Awards will only be given in categories with 3 or more valid contenders.
- A completed application MUST be submitted by the application deadline (June 6, 2025) in order to compete.
