Dr. DeWayne Cuffie, Alabama Goodwill Industries

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Alabama Goodwill Industries is pleased to announce that, following an extensive national search, Dr. DeWayne Cuffie has been selected as the organization’s next President and Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Cuffie currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Mission Integration Officer for Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, based in Macon and Augusta, Georgia. In this role, he has successfully led donated goods operations, mission integration, workforce development, administration, information technology, loss prevention, safety, and government contracts. His Goodwill career spans sixteen years, with prior leadership roles at Goodwill organizations in Orlando, Baltimore, and Buffalo.

He holds a Doctor of Organizational Leadership and Development from Johnson University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona, and a Bachelor of Sociology from Jacksonville State University, where he also served as captain of the football team. His community involvement includes serving on the Board of the Warner Robins, Georgia Chamber of Commerce and as Chairman of the Board for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Macon, Georgia.

Dr. Cuffie will officially join Alabama Goodwill Industries on September 1, 2025, succeeding current President and CEO Dave Wells, who announced his retirement in June. A two-month transition period will ensure a smooth handover of leadership responsibilities.

Alabama Goodwill’s Board of Directors expressed confidence that Dr. Cuffie’s experience, leadership, and commitment to the mission will guide the organization into its next chapter of growth and impact.
