HUNTSVILLE, Ala., May 3, 2019 – Dynetics has donated $30,000 in charitable gifts to Athens State University and the University of North Alabama, with $15,000 going to each institution. These two northern Alabama institutions were selected because the Huntsville area continues to seek graduates within the cybersecurity, logistics and supply chain management fields.

At Athens State University, the gift was given to the College of Business for their undergraduate and graduate logistics and supply chain management programs.

“The business environment continues to grow and there is a need for logistics and supply chain management specialists. Athens State is preparing their students for those future careers and Dynetics is definitely looking to fill positions such as these soon. We hope these students will look for a career and want to stay in the Huntsville area after graduation,” said Ronnie Chronister, Dynetics senior vice president of contracts and Athens State University board member.

The University of North Alabama gift was given to support the new Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Lab in the College of Business.

“Cybersecurity is a topic that is in the news daily and with more and more people being impacted in a multitude of ways. Teaching students to learn the latest skills and techniques will be critical when protecting consumers in today’s world. Dynetics has been a leader in the cybersecurity industry for more than 20 years. We want to help UNA students at the ground-level and give them hands-on experience in a modern facility as they prepare for their future,” said Jonathan Pettus, Dynetics director of cybersecurity and information technology solutions and a UNA graduate.

Dynetics and UNA also partnered to offer Dynetics employees a scholarship upon acceptance into any online or traditional graduate or undergraduate program.

The company will also offer one paid internship to both institutions each year. The Dynetics Internship Program employs more than 100 interns each summer from more than 20 institutions in the United States.
