Helen Lien, PhD was recently promoted to Senior Development Officer for UAH Athletics and the Colleges of Education and Nursing.
A native of Texas but a longtime Huntsville resident, Helen joined UAH in 2021 as the Annual Giving Officer and quickly rose to the position of Major Gifts Officer. With her help, UAH achieved a record-breaking year of donor gifts in 2022. Helen began her nonprofit career in 2017, when she joined HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology’s Advancement department.
Helen currently serves on the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville’s Ambassador Council, and volunteers with several organizations including Boy Scouts of America, Aum Foundation, and GFWC du Midi Woman’s Club. She graduated from Smith College with a BA in Biochemistry and received both her MEng and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
