Joaquin Tucker was recently appointed as a member of the HEALS Board of Directors as an Individual Trustee.
Born and raised in Hollywood, Alabama, Joaquin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sales from the University of Memphis in 2007 and his Masters in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University in 2011. Upon receiving his undergraduate degree, Joaquin began his professional career in banking at Wells Fargo Financial. In 2010, he was selected to participate in the three-year Contracting Specialist Intern Program at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntsville Center. This is where Joaquin learned his Acquisition principles. Since then, he has worked at General Service Administration as a Senior Contract Specialist; Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Senior Contracting Officer; and currently he serves as a Team Lead Senior Contracting Officer at the U.S. Army Contracting Command.
Joaquin and his wife, Vanessa, have two boys, Julian and Vincent ages 8 and 6 who both attend Goldsmith Schiffman Elementary. Joaquin and Vanessa are the owners of We Rock the Spectrum Huntsville. We Rock the Spectrum is an International Franchise that was founded to provide a place for children of all ability levels to play and grow together. As the only kids’ gym that offers an inclusive philosophy, We Rock the Spectrum is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment to foster learning and exploration with uniquely designed sensory equipment that is specifically designed to aid children with sensory disorders.
In addition, the Tuckers are the owners of the nonprofit organization The Autism Help Foundation; which provides financial assistance to children in north Alabama who may need financial support for speech, ABA, and/or Occupational Therapy services.
