John N. Montgomery has recently been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Invariant Corporation. In this new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company and ensuring that it meets its financial and operational objectives. With more than 13 years of experience at Invariant, John has held various positions, including Department Lead, Project Manager, Test Lead, and Lead Systems Engineer in the software engineering field, gaining expertise in software development, program management, test planning, financial tracking and reporting, and process improvement.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Athens State College and an MBA from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Beyond his career and personal life, John is also an accomplished rugby player. As a Flanker for the Huntsville Rugby Club, he played for 22 years. In 2000, John and his team played for the National Championship in Chicago, Illinois, coming in third place. He also obtained his Pilot’s License in 2006.

In his free time, John enjoys riding his mountain bike and keeping up to date on the economy by reading finance and economics books such as A Random Walk Down Wall Street and The (Mis)behavior of Markets: A Fractal View of Financial Turbulence. He also listens to the Barry Ritholtz podcast on Bloomberg.
