Joycelyn Craighead has been promoted to Vice President of Quality Management and Patient Safety for Huntsville Hospital.
Most recently Executive Director of Quality, Joycelyn began her HH career in 1997 in Quality Management. She has held various positions including staff nurse in the Neonatal ICU, clinical decision support analysis, and Director of Quality. She is a member of the Lifesaver Club, Societies of 1895 & 2012 and a past chairperson of the hospital’s United Way Campaign.
Joycelyn earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama A&M University, BSN from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, and a Master of Science in Public Health from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. In addition to her academic achievements, she is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC) and attained the designation of Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) by the National Association of Healthcare Quality.
In her new role as VP, Joycelyn will focus on the organization’s patient safety and quality programs. This includes infection prevention and control, performance improvement, medical staff peer review, regulatory and accreditation services, environmental safety, the management of clinical registries, and the implementation of high reliability processes. She will also help to coordinate activities across the system and help foster communication, learning and sharing of ideas.
Joycelyn is married and is the mother of two.
