Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) would like to recognize Krystal Ness, who plays a vital role in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center’s (NSWC) Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonic Test Bed (MACH-TB) program. In her role, she plans and executes multiple hypersonic flight tests under Campaign 2, SST-1/2, and FST-1. Krystal leads Flight Test Reviews and develops critical documentation such as entrance/exit criteria, Test Objectives, Deployment Rosters, Mission Viewing Plans, Data Management and Analysis Plans, Mission Countdown Training material, VIP Briefings, and Mission Countdown Checklists. Krystal’s contributions are central to advancing hypersonic testing capabilities and providing actionable insights to the MACH-TB program office.

As part of her leadership within MACH-TB, Krystal serves as the Backup Auxiliary Sensor Test Director (AUXTD2) on console for SST-1/2 campaigns, actively supporting countdown exercises, including Dry Run, Dress Rehearsal, and Best Estimated Test Date operations. She organizes the annual MACH-TB Sensor Summit at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, fostering collaboration between the government program office and sensor capability teams. Demonstrating a commitment to innovation, Krystal is also leading efforts to establish HyperLink, a sister program to MACH-TB, where she builds and guides a team of over 36 experts. Together, they develop processes to correlate hypersonic flight test data, ground test data, and modeling and simulation in an AI/ML-based database. Her leadership and expertise drive advancements in hypersonic testing, delivering cutting-edge solutions for the Department of Defense.
