Make Your Vote Count: Important Information for Nov. 3 General Election

by Amberly Kimbrough & Claire Aiello
Huntsville/Madison County Chamber

Updated 11/2/20

The November 3 general election is here. In Alabama, there has been extremely high interest in absentee voting this year — when absentee voting wrapped up, more than 40,000 people in Madison County had either requested absentee ballots or voted absentee in person at the courthouse.

Polls will be open on Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Bring your photo ID and a mask, and it wouldn’t hurt to bring your own black ballpoint pen, to help poll workers save time and cleaning supplies keeping pens clean.

Please visit madisoncountyvotes.com for important details.

On Sept. 30, Debra Kizer, Madison County Absentee Election Manager, and Frank Barger, Madison County Probate Judge, joined the Chamber to discuss activity leading up to the Nov. 3 election. Watch the update.

Additionally, Alabama’s Fair Ballot Commission has published detailed information on these proposed constitutional amendments.

Amendment 4, if approved, would allow legislators to remove racist language from Alabama’s 1901 Constitution.  Read more about Amendment 4 in this article by Mike Ward, the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber’s Senior Vice President of Government and Public Affairs.
