The Huntsville Botanical Garden was proud to be represented at the Botanic Garden Conservation International’s 7th Global Botanic Gardens Congress in Melbourne, Australia, by Rebecca Turk, Matt Candeias, and Tracy Cook. These staff members presented on topics related to public engagement, conservation of the Alabama-endemic Boynton oak, and the importance of partnerships in plant conservation, sharing their expertise with over 500 representatives from 45 countries.
Rebecca Turk, Director of Learning and Public Engagement, commented on the many great takeaways from the experience. “Networking always gets me inspired! I have many ideas to bring back and incorporate into our Garden.”
