
The Women’s Economic Development Council (WEDC) of Huntsville is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephenie Walker as its new Operations and Communications Coordinator.
In this role, Stephenie will oversee membership processes, marketing and communications, financial reporting, and administrative operations that support WEDC’s mission to champion women as leaders in business and in the community. Her work will focus on strengthening internal systems, enhancing digital engagement, and expanding the organization’s visibility across Huntsville and north Alabama.
Stephenie brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, communications, and community engagement. She has worked with local nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and civic groups throughout Huntsville and Madison County. Her background includes developing strategic marketing campaigns, managing cross-functional teams, and building partnerships that drive community growth and collaboration.
“Stephenie’s deep roots in the Huntsville community and her ability to blend creative storytelling with strategic planning make her an ideal addition to our leadership team,” said Melanie Thorton, WEDC President. “We are thrilled to have her join us as WEDC continues to grow its impact and support women’s professional advancement.”
