MONTGOMERY, AL – Tracy Doughty, president and chief operating officer of Huntsville Hospital, was recently elected president of the North Regional Council of the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA). The election took place at the Association’s recent annual meeting.
“The regional hospital councils offer a crucial platform for hospital leaders to network and share best practices, which is incredibly valuable in our evolving healthcare landscape,” said Donald E. Williamson, MD, President of AlaHA. “It is no surprise that a leader like Tracy was elected to serve his region in this capacity.”
Doughty began his career at Huntsville Hospital in 1998. He is a graduate of the University of North Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. He later received two master’s degrees from The University of Alabama Birmingham in Quality and Outcomes Management in Health Systems and Health Administration.
In addition to his service to the Alabama Hospital Association, Doughty is active in many local and regional organizations, including the University of North Alabama Foundation, a board member for The Committee of 100, the Huntsville Housing Authority Advisory Board, Downtown Huntsville Inc., the Calhoun Community College Foundation, and serves as Huntsville Hospital’s representative on the Huntsville EMS (HEMSI) Board.
Founded in 1921, the Alabama Hospital Association is a statewide trade organization that assists member hospitals in effectively serving the healthcare needs of Alabama, through advocacy, representation, education and service.
