Auto supplier DaikyoNishikawa to locate first U.S. facility in Huntsville, Alabama, creating 380 jobs

(May 14, 2019) – The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber is pleased to welcome Japan-based DaikyoNishikawa US, which plans to invest $110 million to open an auto parts manufacturing facility in Huntsville.

The company, called DNUS for short, will be located on-site at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing U.S.A. assembly plant now under construction. DNUS will create approximately 380 jobs and produce plastic automotive parts.

DaikyoNishikawa announced May 14 it will build its first U.S. facility in Huntsville, on the site of Mazda Toyota Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc.

“Over decades, Alabama has built strong relationships with many leading Japanese businesses, and I know that we will forge a productive, long-lasting partnership with DaikyoNishikawa,” Governor Ivey said. “We’re pleased that this world-class automotive supplier has selected our state for the site of its first U.S. manufacturing facility and look forward to seeing it put down roots in Sweet Home Alabama, where so many of our Japanese partners have found success.”

DNUS is the first on-site partner announced for Mazda Toyota Manufacturing U.S.A. (MTMUS), a $1.6 billion joint-venture assembly plant being built on a 2,500-acre site in the Limestone County portion of Huntsville. In 2021, MTMUS will produce up to 300,000 vehicles annually, split evenly between Mazda and Toyota.

“With this being DaikyoNishikawa’s first U.S. manufacturing facility, we welcome them home to Limestone County and look forward to being a key partner in their future success,” said Limestone County Commission Chairman Collin Daly. “This $110 million investment that will bring 380 new jobs is a testament to the strong workforce in our region that has earned global recognition.”

DaikyoNishikawa Corp. is a publicly traded company in Japan, based in Hiroshima. It first announced the Alabama project today after the markets closed in Tokyo. DNUS has already established a temporary office in Huntsville and a human resources director to prepare for hiring.
