Like many businesses and organizations, the US Space and Rocket Center has been impacted by COVID-19. The Rocket Center closed its doors in March, just days before its 50th anniversary, and since then has either laid off or furloughed more than one-third of its staff. Now the world-famous home of Space Camp will reopen this weekend, though it will be limited to nearly 50 percent of its capacity for safety reasons. The long-time top tourist attraction in Alabama sees most of its visitors and campers – and likewise its revenue — in the spring and summer. In an effort to offset the financial impact, the Rocket Center is reaching out to alumni and other supporters to donate here in honor of the Apollo 13 mission that taught us 50 years ago, failure is not an option. Help us sustain this important part of our identity as Rocket City USA for at least another 50 years.
