Michael Rodgers has recently joined Redstone Federal Credit Union® as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. He will oversee departments that include Compliance, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, and Vendor Management.
Building on his years as a bank investigator and examiner, Rodgers earned his juris doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1999. He then combined his interests of financial risk management and the law to work with several financial institutions in the San Antonio, Texas area. Most recently, he was Vice President of Risk and Compliance at the $15-billion Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union in San Antonio.
Rodgers is the son of a banker and often tells the story that at age 12, he started pulling weeds in the flower beds at the bank where his dad worked. One day he went in for a drink of water and never returned to yard work. He performed duties around the bank until college. After college, he worked as an FDIC investigator and an OCC commissioned examiner before heading to law school.
“I am thrilled to join such a community-oriented organization as Redstone Federal Credit Union.” Mike stated. “The motto of the credit union industry is People Helping People, which is the prime objective of RFCU, and I look forward to assisting the Credit Union in fulfilling this mission.”
