The Orthopaedic Center (TOC) announced the addition of Dr. Zachary Moore to its team in September. Dr. Moore is one of three new doctors to join TOC, along with Dr. Thompson McMurtrie and Dr. Corey Burke. TOC now boasts 38 orthopaedic physicians across North Alabama.
“As our community and region grow, TOC understands the need for greater access to highly trained and skillful medical providers,” says TOC’s CEO, Mark Didier. “For this reason, TOC is excited to announce we are expanding our provider base with three more fellowship-trained surgeons to meet the orthopaedic medical needs of our communities. Throughout the North Alabama region, TOC is committed to your care.”
Dr. Moore is a sports medicine and general orthopaedics surgeon who graduated from medical school and completed his residency at the University of South Alabama before completing his fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Moore was the University of West Alabama team physician and helped take care of the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2021 season, providing his services on the sidelines. As part of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine program, he was faculty on the surgical skills assessment program for new sports fellows. Throughout his academic career, he has also extensively researched orthopaedic medicine. Dr. Moore will join Dr. Matthew Smith at the TOC Guntersville location and hold his practice at TOC Boaz.
“After finishing their respective fellowships in sports medicine and pediatric orthopedics, the new physicians bring the newest state-of-the-art techniques and skills offered in orthopedic surgery,” says Dr. Allan Maples.
