The Chamber’s Lucia Cape and Madison Mayor Paul Finley represented Huntsville/Madison County at the 45th Annual Southeast U.S.-Japan Meeting in Tokyo on Oct. 12-13. The Alabama delegation was led by Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield and supported by Senator Arthur Orr, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Ed Castile, and Director of International Trade Christina Stimpson. The Alabama delegation was joined by delegations from the other six SEUS states of Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The meeting included conversations with U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel and two-time Indy 500 winner Takuma Sato, along with panel discussions on workforce and U.S.-Japanese economic development.
