Small Business Awards
Continued to honor the achievements of socially and/or economically disadvantaged business owners, including minority-owned (MO), veteran-owned (VO), and woman-owned (WO) businesses at the Small Business Awards.
- 52 companies competed in the MO, VO, and WO categories, a 17% increase over last year.
- 78% of Small Business Award winners represented a socially and/or economically disadvantaged business owner.
Women’s Business Council (WBC)
The Women's Business Council (WBC) of the Chamber is a dynamic group of passionate women business owners dedicated to championing the advancement of women in the workplace. Through leadership, collaboration, and a shared commitment to success, these trailblazers inspire others to reach new heights and create a thriving environment for women to excel in business and beyond. The WBC provided opportunities for networking, mentoring and leadership development with unique speakers, business socials, and panel discussions.
Speakers this year included:
- Helena Duncan, CEO of the Business Council of Alabama
- Stephanie Bryan, CEO and Board Chair for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians

The Council
- Hosted 10 events and sold 425 tickets.
- Is made up of 14 Woman-Owned Businesses representing 10 different industries.
- A member of the Council, Kanique Mighty-Nugent, Founder and CEO of Komposition LLC, was selected to participate in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program.
