Alabama Legislature passes pro-military package of bills

The Alabama Legislature recently what the Army might call a “Hooah, Hooah” day!  On February 24, the Alabama House passed six Senate bills to further enhance Alabama’s pro-military posture.

Northrop Grumman Names UAH ‘Focus University’

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Feb. 18, 2022) – Northrop Grumman, a global aerospace and defense technology company with more than 90,000 employees, has designated The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), a part of The University of Alabama System, as a “Focus University” – one of only eight institutions in the country to receive that distinction. With this title comes a donation of $90,000, which will be used to create endowed scholarships, support UAH student organizations, and provide for programs in business, science, technology, engineering and math.

OSHA and CMS Vaccine Rules: Biden Administration Issues New Details

The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is announcing the details of a requirement for employers with 100 or more employees to ensure each of their workers is fully vaccinated or tests for COVID-19 on at least a weekly basis. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) at the Department of Health and Human Services is also announcing the details of its requirement that health care workers at facilities participating in Medicare and Medicaid are fully vaccinated.
