Due to the situation with Coronavirus in Alabama, it is essential that we do everything we can to stay healthy and minimize the potential spread of illness. Many companies have already taken similar steps for employees in regards to travel and large meetings. After careful consideration and discussion with our leadership team, the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber will take the following precautions with upcoming events:

• • Effective Monday, March 16, all meetings previously scheduled in our building will be held virtually. The staff member coordinating the meeting will contact participants with information needed to dial in or connect digitally.
  • This includes a number of our upcoming small business classes, initially scheduled to take place in our building.  These will be held as online training sessions. We are working out the logistics and will share information soon with people who have registered.
  • We do not want to close the Chamber, but we also want to protect our workplace to keep our staff healthy. We plan to post signage in the lobby in front of our reception desk, asking visitors to keep a safe distance.  As things evolve, we will follow guidance from local and state health officials on potentially closing.  Members, if you are planning to drop by, please call 256-535-2000 first.
  • We understand your company may have put travel restrictions in place, or encouraged you not to attend large gatherings to limit the potential spread of illness. Additionally, state and federal recommendations include limiting gatherings, and to practice social distancing. We understand and we are working to do the same for our team members. Due to this factor, we are working to reschedule all Chamber events that are currently in the month of April. We’ll share more information on new dates soon.
  • Some networking meetings and events involving local high school students during the month of April (for example, Intern for a Day and Senior Sprint) may be impacted. We will follow guidance from school systems in the coming weeks. If you’ve already registered for these events as a company or individual, we will communicate updates to you soon.
  • If you are considering having a company event such as a ribbon cutting, we would love to be part of your celebration. As the situation with COVID-19 continues to develop, we will make adjustments as needed and look forward to hosting ribbon cuttings in the near future. Feel free to contact our Membership team to assist with coordinating your upcoming event.
