Huntsville, Ala., Dec. 15, 2017 – Ignite has been named the 2017 Small Business Subcontractor of the Year by NASA’s Shared Services Center (NSSC) as part of the agency’s annual Small Business Industry Award (SBIA) program.
The award honors Ignite’s significant contributions and value-added support toward NASA’s small business program. Specifically, the award recognizes Ignite’s support to SAIC through the first ever Mentor-Protégé agreement to be executed through NASA’s Shared Services Center. Through this agreement, Ignite provides services to the prime contractor in support of the NASA Enterprise Applications Service Technologies (EAST) 2 contract.
As the NSSC Small Business Subcontractor of the Year, Ignite is eligible to be chosen as the FY 2017 NASA Small Business Industry Awards Agency-level winner in the same category. The FY 2017 NASA Agency-level SBIA winners will be announced during the spring 2018 NASA Industry Forum meeting on March 7, 2018, at NASA headquarters.
“We are honored by this award and even more appreciative of the genuine and tangible commitment to small business development demonstrated by both the NASA Office of Small Business Programs and SAIC,” said Jason Shelton, Ignite Chief Executive Officer. “The employee owners of Ignite are benefitting tremendously by this three-party partnership.”
