WellStone, Inc., North Alabama’s largest and most comprehensive behavioral health center, welcomes Jiri Danczik, MD, as Medical Director of WellStone Emergency Services. WES provides quality and compassionate care to those experiencing mental health crises. Danczik, a board-certified psychiatrist, graduated with his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from First Medical Faculty of Charles’ University in Prague, Czech Republic. He later received his postdoctoral training in psychiatry at State University of New York (SUNY) in Brooklyn. Danczik served as Chief Resident in his Psychiatric residency program, and later practiced psychiatric medicine in New Mexico and Wyoming.

Dr. Danczik comes to WellStone, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, with more than 20 years of psychiatric experience. He is passionate about serving what many consider to be our nation’s most challenging and underserved patient population. WES is currently operating in a limited capacity at a temporary location but will provide a full spectrum of services when the new Crisis Diversion Center is completed next spring.
