Huntsville, Ala. (October 5, 2017) – Two local companies are linking arms and bringing a new way to do business to the Federal Government – thanks to the Small Business Administration (SBA’s) new All Small Mentor-Protégé Program.
Mentor, Manufacturing Technical Solutions (MTS) and Protégé, Linc Research, have come together to create LincTech — a HUBZone Joint Venture that specializes in high-tech engineering services for NASA, DOD, and other agencies. This newly formed joint venture could provide many new jobs — many of which will be located in our nation’s most distressed neighborhoods.
As a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) JV, LincTech’s HQ is located within the Lincoln Village area of Huntsville. Linc Research, the managing partner, is required to maintain 35% or more of its employees who reside in a HUBZone.
The beauty of the SBA’s new Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP) is that it allows smaller companies (protégés) to form Joint Ventures with larger companies (mentors), enabling them to pursue larger and more complex government contracts. This partnership is not only beneficial to the individual companies, but the community itself.
“The HUBZone program is the best program for bringing career opportunities to HUBZone residents and generations to follow,” said Curtis Taylor, President of Linc Research Inc.
