Matt Bender recently joined CFD Research as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. In this role, Matt will be responsible for executing strategic projects and initiatives that will help CFD Research continue to develop new technologies and support the company’s DoD customers with highly technical engineering expertise.
Matt joins CFD Research after spending over 20 years with Dynetics, where he started his engineering career working on foreign material exploitation tasks in addition to the development of weapon system Hardware-In-The-Loop test systems. For several years, he led the development of real-time embedded hardware and software for communication and electronic warfare applications. This work led him to support the foundation of Dynetics’ ability to manufacture prototype electronics for these DoD customers, later becoming the Vice President of the Product Development and Manufacturing Division. In this role, Matt oversaw significant growth of the company’s hardware and products solutions business over the last 10 years, during which he was responsible for the strategic vision of the Division along with the financial performance of the group.
Matt has worked with a broad set of customers that included all three military services, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the intelligence community and some commercial customers.
Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University and a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
