More than 100 local agencies are registered on Charity Tracker here in Huntsville/Madison County. Charity Tracker is a tool for nonprofits, churches, government agencies, schools and others. This tool allows organizations to communicate with each other and the community about the needs it is facing through a single, easy-to-use platform. A grant from the Community Foundation is currently covering the cost.
“The Community Connections project funds an unlimited number of Charity Tracker subscriptions for each agency for one year. CharityTracker, an online case management tool developed to help families during Katrina, is used by over 1,500 cities to coordinate care. Charleston, SC used CharityTracker to create a collaborative network of 350 agencies. Our goal is to follow this model and provide an unlimited number of CharityTracker subscriptions in Madison County to create a critical mass of agencies using a collaborative case management network. We currently have over 100 organizations on the Huntsville CharityTracker network including nonprofits, churches, corporate partner and community organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, school systems, and Junior League. Charity Tracker was designed just for moments as we’re experiencing now. It allows communities to collaborate together and not duplicate services. This platform also offers tools such as client tracking, reports, alerts, and much more.
