Huntsville, Ala. lands UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in September 2026

We are pleased to share with you that Huntsville, Alabama has landed the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in 2026. The races will be held September 4-7, 2026, Labor Day weekend, in Cummings Research Park. This premier event will bring approximately 600 of the world’s para-cyclists, along with their support staff and families, to Huntsville.

The ranking of the 150 most populated U.S. metropolitan statistical areas looked at 11 metrics within two categories: educational attainment and quality of education and attainment gap.

Huntsville Historical Artifacts Arrive Unexpectedly

The Chamber recently received a package in the mail containing several copies of the “Satellite EXTRA” edition and a number of newspaper clippings from February  of 1958, chronicling Huntsville’s role launching the first US satellite into orbit and the local celebrations that followed the launch.  The clippings provide terrific insight into the events of that day and the days that followed.
